Hi Everyone,
Thanks for reading my blog!  Let me tell you a little about myself...

I am nearly 33 years old and have three busy boys with my wonderful husband Kurt.  I am currently completing my Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Wellness Management through the University of Wisconsin.  I hope to have this completed in the next year or so.  So what do I want to do with this degree you may ask?  Well, I want to help people adapt to a healthier, active lifestyle so that they live their life to the fullest!  I hope to work locally through the YMCA or other health center and have my primary career working for one of the major health insurance companies as a health and wellness coach.  I've always been interested in health and wellness and living an active lifestyle.  I try to run at least one half marathon per summer, which this year I am fortunate enough to be running two!  I would like to increase this number to three to four per year and be finishing in under two hours.  This year I ran my fastest ever with my thirteen year old son in 2 hours 7 minutes!  I enjoy doing all sorts of things such as running, biking, hiking, camping, fishing, hanging out at the beach and traveling.
This blog will be used to relay my progress towards my degree and my own personal progress about my health.  I currently have a goal to lose approximately twenty pounds.  I am down four pounds this week which I will credit to writing successfully in my food journal this week and eating under 1700 calories per day.  It's amazing how all the small stuff adds up!  It really takes a great deal of effort to maintain a food journal, but it's working and that's the important thing.
